Holos at RTEX 2014

The first robotics fair in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region

Holos was one of the main sponsors of RTEX 2014, the Robot Technology Exhibition, where it presented ServRobot, an all-terrain service robot developed by Holos and co-funded by the maisCentro programme (Programa Operacional Regional do Centro) of the QREN and by the FEDER, able to move autonomously through unknown environments. It is a surveillance robot that adapts to different types of use and environmental conditions, able to gather sensor information locally or remotely and to act autonomously on the basis of that information.

RTEX 2014 was the first Robotics and Automation fair in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. Under the motto “Better by Robot”, the fair took place at the Meydan venue between 28 and 30 September, and was based on the principle that technology can support a smarter and more sustainable way of life for humanity.

Known for its hospitality and its appeal as a place to discuss business opportunities, Dubai was chosen to host this unique event. With the mission to “Educate, focus and encourage Robotics and Automation in the MENA region”, the fair promoted values such as creativity, efficiency and social responsibility.
