SHARE enters Spain's Trust List of Data Spaces, with Holos engineering at its core
The Spanish Government has placed its formal seal of trust on work Holos is proud to help build. SHARE, the Spanish Cancer Data Space, whose connection to the clinical data itself runs on an integration engineered by Holos, has been officially registered in Spain's Trust List of Data Spaces. For Holos, it is governmental confirmation of the promise we make every day: Knowledge, Made to Work.
The registration was resolved on 13 July 2026 by Spain's Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence. The Trust List of Data Spaces (Lista de Confianza de Espacios de Datos) is the official register maintained by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, reserved for data spaces that demonstrably meet the state's criteria for governance, security, and interoperability. Trust, here, is not declared; it is verified.
SHARE is a federated data space for cancer research. It connects 187 Spanish hospitals and brings together more than 30,000 lung cancer patient records, without ever centralising them. Each institution keeps full control and sovereignty over its own data, while researchers gain the scale they need to train and validate AI models for prognosis and survival prediction.
A federation, however, is only as trustworthy as the connections that hold it together, and that is where Holos works. Holos engineered the integration between SHARE and CLARIFY, the EU-funded cancer care platform distinguished on the European Commission's Innovation Radar, and the platform where the clinical data actually resides. It is this integration that lets SHARE query, share, and learn from real-world oncology data while every guarantee of privacy, consent, and control stays intact: a system that cannot fail, because people's health data, and the research built upon it, depend on it.
For the record: the Trust List was created by Order TDF/1207/2025 of 27 October, which subjects every candidate data space to formal evaluation by a Technical Commission. SHARE's application, submitted by the project's coordinator, the Biomedical Research Foundation of Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda, was approved by the Technical Commission on 6 July 2026, and the resolution was signed by Spain's Director General for Data. It arrives as Europe lays the foundations of the European Health Data Space, and it sends a clear signal: federated, sovereign, well-governed health data infrastructures are no longer a promise. They are certified, operating reality.
