It was 14 years ago! Congratulations to the Comissão do Golfo da Guiné (CGG)

The Comissão do Golfo da Guiné (CGG) was created on 3 July 2001; it is thus 14 years since five states signed the Treaty founding it, with the aim of encouraging cooperation and promoting the economic development and social progress of the peoples of the Region.
The Commission currently comprises eight states:
the Republic of Angola,
the Republic of Cameroon,
the Republic of the Congo,
the Democratic Republic of the Congo,
the Gabonese Republic,
the Republic of Equatorial Guinea
the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
and the Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe
We wish the Commission every success and that it continues to establish itself, especially at this moment of difficult international circumstances resulting from the world economic and financial crisis, terrorism, maritime piracy and cross-border crime, to name just some of the many problems affecting the world and the region,
May the new Executive team at the Commission's Secretariat prosper, and may their efforts translate into the effective creation and maintenance of conditions of peace and security in the Gulf of Guinea region.
Holos reaffirms its readiness to continue supporting the CGG, contributing in its own measure to the successful achievement of its objectives.
Once again, congratulations to the CGG, and we hope that the dream of its founders comes true for the benefit of all, thus transforming the region into a Zone of Peace and Security!
