The Intelligent Monitoring System uses a set of autonomous components (sensors, cameras, PDAs / Cell Phones) that cooperate among themselves and with human resources in an integrated surveillance model capable of displaying Collective Intelligence while executing surveillance and security activities.

Wheels – Logistics management system of WHEELS
This system manages the material flow between suppliers, European consolidation centres and destinations. It is based on AutoEuropa’s factory need for components and it manages the material according to the “Just-in-Time” methodology. This system gathers information on:
- Production of material transportation requests by the suppliers to WHEELS, according to specifications of weight, volume e technical characteristics;
- Validation of transportation requests;
- Route planning for pick-up and for delivery;
- Material delivery at destination (Consolidation Centres or AutoEuropa);
- Validation of deliveries;
- Identification of stock failures.

COSMOS (IST/FP7 – Project 246371-2) Cost-driven Adaptive Factory based on Modular SelfContained Factory Units
This project, co-financed by the European Commission under the program “ICT – Information and Communication Technologies” of its 7th Framework Programme, aims to design, develop and implement a system of distributed control for managing factories with a modular, flexible and scalable approach, capable of increasing the productivity of plants assembly about 20%, without compromising its flexibility. The demonstration will take place in a factory producing wind generators.

This project, co-funded by QREN (Quadro de Referência Estratégico Nacional) and considered in the scope of the Sistema de Incentivos à Investigação e Desenvolvimento Tecnológico (SI I&DT), aims to develop a system that will support a collaborative approach between humans and machines (and between them) in Surveillance of space, using geolocation to allow the automatic monitoring of incidents, hence reducing the need for intervention from human operators.
